I do a lot of hiking with my mate and looking for a new hiking tent that is durable and of good quality. Needs to be able to pack down to nothing and be as light as air. Thank you

I have heard recommendations to purchase 2 tents. However, I am a single mom and we all need to be in one tent. I currently have a smaller 6 man tent and it is not big enough for myself, 4 children and our gear. The youngest is 1 and he requires more than usual. The tent will get quite a bit of use but only during the late spring and summer. A multi room tent is fine as long as the inner dividers are removable. In a perfect outdoor world I would love a tent with a full rain cover as well as storage vestibules (though these are not a must). I prefer to use an air matress as I need my sleep to manage four young ones on a camping trip
Again, this is not a must. I would greatly appreciate any guidance as I know I will be spending over 200 and I can not afford for the tent not to last. Thank you!
I’m going on the Badaguish Outdoor Challange this year, and i really want a heater that can be used in my tent. I have a 2 man tent, a Vango Spectre 200 and i need to have a heater in the tent to keep me warm. Please help, i dont want to freeze this year ![]()

Must be well ventilated but also have a water hood…
Must fit in a backpack (less than 6" x 24"
Must cost less than 0
Every time I go online to look up tents women always insist on standing up in them and getting their 2 queen size mattresses to fit on each side .
What do you want, a circus tent? My own wife bought one of those 150.00 dollar 8 man tents and always wondered why it leaked and always got blown over in the wind.
I’m thinking about purchasing a 1 or 2 man tent for when I go backpacking and camping. I want something light and durable. I never had to purchase one because the tents were always provided through scouts and now the outdoors club at school.. happened to be the same Eureka! tent.
Let me know your thoughts on the different brands.

I am thinking about ordering two military tent halves with poles and stakes. I have seen one in use but there does not appear to be flooring. The two halves button together in the middle and that looks like it could leak too. I cant imagine the military would use them if they got all wet on the inside but has anyone used them before? Is there a trick, like folding the sides in at the bottom to keep wet rain from draining in or something.
I want to head out for a weekend trip to do some hiking, and tent camping in New hanpshire maybe? Anywhere in New England
I’ve just been down in Tasmania with a friend, and have used a new Kathmandu tent (a 2 man mistral dome) & found it to be more than adequate. Having alloy poles & a decent outer fly, makes a big difference in comfort & reliability.
What’s your tent of choice?
