Brokeback Mountain, an adaptation of Annie Proulx short story, tells the epic and ultimately tragic tale of two gay Cowboys who are tossed together as ranch hands. Living together in the close quarters of a tent as they herd sheep above the Wyoming timeberline. brings out their.(innate?) feelings for each other, The story is poinientky told, well acted and beautifully photographed, It grabs and holds the viewers attention no matter what sexual orientaion they may have or think they have.
But thru a tragic string of events,these two lovers never validate the strength that builds out of a gay relationship and the love two guys can have for one another.
The homophobic male still gets to go home satified that gays and the life style they live is tabboo and to be shunned at all costs and outlawed, if possible. And once again, convince themselves that 2 manly men, especially cowboys, couldn’t be carrying on like that anyway….. Or could they?…. Is it good enough to be #1?

This one is for ‘whynotaskdon’ because he’s famous for quoting violent quotes from the koran but when it comes to bible quotes that are as violent, if not more so, he remains strangely silent.
Some lovely examples;

Numbers 16:26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their’s, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
16:27 So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.

Deutoronomy 13 clearly commands christians to kill every person in a city where god is not worshipped and then to burn the city to the ground. Can you see a pattern developing here?

1 Samuel 2 31-34 says that if you anger god he will chop off your arms, rot out your eyes and heart and then kill your sons and grand sons.
There you have it, love and forgiveness christian style.
Oh and for those of you who mewl about taking things "out of context", please, don’t make me laugh.
I’m taking DIRECT quotes from your own bible, how can that POSSIBLY be taken out of context? (Hint: it can’t)

I am looking for suggestions on a super good quality 2 man, 3 season tent that would have great weather proofing, easy to set up, and light enough to carry with my pack. I’ve never done an overnight hike before and so simplicty and easy of transportation is a must as it will no doubt involve hiking where going up 4000′ elevations and back down to a camping site would be done. Have friends who just hiked through baxter state park and climbed mt katahdin and someday I’d love to join them and want to be sure I burden myself appropriately in being able to go over the mountain and camp on the other side without things being to awkward
