Hi, I’m looking into buying a tent and was wondering if anyone would know one that would fit my needs.

I’m spending 5 weeks camping in Alaska. It’ll be coldest 30 degrees. I need a small tent that’ll fit me and my hiking backpack, so maybe a two person tent. It needs to hold up to rain and be durable enough to last for the full 5 weeks.

My maximum price is 0, but I’m ideally looking for something around .
Has anyone bought a tent that might fit these needs? If it’s over that price, please answer anyway, I might be able to find it cheaper on ebay or something.

Thanks!

I’m going hiking/camping for a month on the Appalachian Trail starting in June. i hope to sleep under the stars as often as possible, but there will be weather issues I’m sure. Which one person tent (under 0) would be the best for this?

I like to start hiking and camping out in a one or two person tent.

I’m a novice so I’ll need a beginners book.

Can you lead me to a good novice book for hiking and light tent camping?

When it comes time to set up camp and you’ve been hiking through the snow all day you’re going to be covered in snow. How do you keep the inside of your tent (1-2 person tent) from becoming a sloppy mess when you crawl inside and change into your sleeping clothes?

Ok here’s the scoop…
I want to get into hiking and camping with my wife. I currently have no gear. What should I buy? I have about 0 to work with. I am planning on camping through 3 seasons, spring, summer, and fall (a little in the winter perhaps). I am going to need a two person tent, his and hers sleeping bags, and his and hers backpacks. I am looking for gear that would take me on 2-4 day hikes. Should go with internal or external backpacks. What’s the difference? Is there a good rain resistant tent within my price range? I’m thinking I would want a mummy type sleeping bag. Again, not sure though. Brand names with reasons for purchasing would be much appreciated. Thanks.
