I live in Ohio so i would prefer states around my area within a 10 hour drive.
I want a campground that includes:
- tents, not cabins
- hiking (mountains or very hilly)
- river or lake
- warm area
- fishing
i want a place where you’re away from technology, where you’re only surrounded by nature.
and i would prefer having my campground not so close to other campers.
Picture it:
-Eighteen 14-16 year olds hiking for 9 days
-No tents-sleeping under plastic
-No toilets, no showers
-3 changes of clothes for the whole time
-Vegeterian meals
-Have to get up at 4am, finish hiking at 8pm
-No music/phones/pens and even books!
I am going to die. I haven’t even slept in a tent before!

I’m going on my Duke of Edinburgh in a couple of weeks and would like to buy a tent. I would also like one for general use. I’ve looked at some in the <£40 price range. I stumbled upon the Ryde 2 Man Dome Tent from Eurohike. Firstly, is this a decent tent? And also, it is 3kg. Will this be a major inconvenience when walking up to 30 kilometres? Any suggestions to other tents?
My brother showed me a website a few years ago that exclusively sold one item each day. These items were usually outdoor equipment like tents, kayaks, hiking boots, bicycles etc etc. But it was only one item each day, like an overstock situation. Any thoughts?
I want to go camping with my family but I am not familiar with any places in san diego or somewhere near by the colorado river in arizona that i can go camping. I’m looking for a place that’s fun,hiking, tents and/or cabin facilities, somewhere where they have rivers or some kind of water. Can someone recommend some really nice place to go camping ?
I am looking to plan a hiking/backpacking trip for a week in March 2010. I have no idea how to go about planning one, as every hiking trip I’ve been on has been part of an organized group. I do not care where I hike, but I would prefer to be able to stay in huts rather than tents. Any advice on great trails or where to go to plan a hike??

I saw this tent in a Kmart add and thought "This is perfect!", but it doesn’t have a place for a stove pipe. Does anyone know where I could find a tent that is similar to this, but has a place for a stove pipe? Thanks.

Think about price, size, durability, and comfort this will be a backyard tent not for real camping will be slept in but up to 5 people who like personal space should be an easy set up.

Myself and a friend, in order to raise money for charity, want to go on a 7-day "live off the land" style hike in England. Does anyone have any informative websites on doing this? We want to find a route and go from one end to the other, but we need somewhere where we can just pitch our tents wherever, we don’t want a campsite or somewhere "touristy" – any suggestions/tips/links?

the first one was me and my friends were grocery shopping. then suddenly we were in a huge backyard with tents and a house and these two men in black told us to hide and then they’d kill us. Me and one of my friends hid in a tent and when they came close we went into the house. we went in a room with loud music and when the hallway light turned on we turned of the music and hid against the wall. One man knew we were there because heheard us slam against the wall, and he started comming towards us, and I saw the shadow of him holding a huge knife. I slid under a piece of furniture and he dropped the knife right where I was. It was long and black with 3 diamonds. I woke up.
2: I was in a candy store and looking for my friend, and I saw him running away from me in different isles. I told him to stop because we had to leave, and suddenly I turned around and he was right in front of me holding the same knife from the dream the night before. i woke up.
3: I was in a huge empty room with no windows or doors, and me and my brother started arguing. He started tackling me, and he pulled out the same knife from the past 2 nights dreams, and tried to stab me. I was struggling to keep him away from me, and two men pulled him away and told me to never talk to him again because his "condition was not curable" I started crying and then I woke up.
I think it’s weird I had these dreams 3 days in a row, and consisting of the same knife. I know that people think it symbolizes sex… but I’m only 14. I don’t think thats what it is.

This one is for ‘whynotaskdon’ because he’s famous for quoting violent quotes from the koran but when it comes to bible quotes that are as violent, if not more so, he remains strangely silent.

I’m manning Perimeter 2 when a family of skunks set passes the constantion wire. They make there way thought the mess tents and into the CO’s tent. Should I: A) sound Security alert, report to quarter deck of “GAS, GAS, GAS,” B) should I call the Rover over and pepper spray the whole tent, CO and all. Or C) quietly zip up the CO’s tent, disturbing no one and get back on by patrol.
